Meet your Coach

Welcome! I’m glad you are here.

“I am nourished, calm, strong and joyful. The ways that I eat, travel, explore, donate and shop make for a more sustainable future. I am surrounded by nature and water, connected to my people and my next adventure is on the horizon..”

This is my personal wellness vision for myself.  As a coach, my goal is to help others to create their unique wellness visions and to take steps to make them a reality.

  • 15 years ago, I found myself living a life that was exhausting and unfulfilling. I was moving at an unhealthy pace. I prioritized everyone else over myself, I partied and relied heavily on alcohol. I was tired, stressed and unhappy. I was ready for change.

I found my individual path to wellness by slowing down and listening to my body. I learned more about nutrition and paid close attention to how food impacted me. On long runs and during yoga, I welcomed deep introspection and reflection. I embraced the values of respect, humility, community and confidence while practicing Muay Thai. As a fighter, I learned about the power of meditation and gratitude journaling. I did a lot of difficult work to examine my relationship with alcohol and came to understand who I am without clouded judgment. Over many years, I slowly made changes to my habits, routines, mindsets and relationships. My wellness vision continues to drive me each day.

I spent the first 20 years of my career in non-profit roles that focused on education, professional development and coaching adults. While these roles and social impact fulfilled me, my personal change journey continued to lead me to ponder a career shift to the wellness field. Friends and family asked me for exercise and food advice. I led small group workouts for my coworkers. I knew in my gut that I wanted to share what I had learned with others. With a bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Education and many years of experience coaching and leading adults, it was a natural progression into wellness coaching. I earned professional certifications in nutrition and personal training and officially launched Well Bean in October, 2019.

Since that time, I have worked with so many incredible clients to help them to make their individual wellness visions a reality. I continued my education and am now a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. The Well Bean Signature Coaching Program, a six-month personalized journey, helps clients to intentionally set daily habits to lead to lifelong change.

Well Bean is just me, Jackie Bean (hi:) I spend as much time outside as I can. I love to hike with my pack, camp, stand up paddleboard, travel and be near water - oceans, rivers, lakes, lagoons - I am in awe of all of them. Rainbows and hummingbirds make me squeal in delight and bring me an unreasonable amount of joy. I am extremely active in Muay Thai; I train, teach students of all ages and have competed in numerous national events. I eat a mainly plant-based diet, I garden at home and love to experiment in the kitchen. I am passionate about sustainability and am constantly seeking ways to waste less and to enjoy more. I’m a dog lover. My partner Justin and I are happy to share our home with our rescue pup “Logan,” a handsome, fluffy and very talkative Germanian Shepsky (German Shepherd / Husky Mix). I’m looking forward to meeting you!

  • It was an overall wonderful experience to have the coach who helps guide me through things that I was struggling with. It wasn't just 6 months and done. Jackie helped me with sustainable healthy habits, not quick changes.

    Alicen

  • I didn't trust myself in the beginning to know what was best for me. I truly feel empowered. I trust myself to take care of myself and do what I need.

    Amy

  • I used to think that getting healthy meant "change everything all at once" (food, exercise). When I didn't do it, I felt like a failure. We took the small things and put them into our daily lives.

    Brian

  • We thought we knew about each other. We learned more about what makes the other person tick with wellness. I don't think the impact would've been the same if we hadn't done it together at the same time.

    Colin & Chris

  • My relationship with movement and food has changed.

    Christine

  • I began to actually enjoy cooking, which I never liked before.
